Nevertheless, it was a great effort by Geoff to put his neck on the line. Maybe that will be next year's trick. He has definitely been booked for next year’s party.
The evening was rounded off with a first-class hot supper of steak and potato pie from our old friend Diane's Catering.
Suitably gorged there was a great deal of chat around the many tables. Our Chair Chap, Carl, brought the evening to a close and wished everyone a happy Christmas and best wishes for the New year.

On that note I would like, on behalf of the members of Burnley Film Makers, to wish all our readers a very merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

Our 2016 season came to a close with the Christmas "do".
A large group of members, friends and family attended the function.
They were ably entertained by Carl who showed extracts from some of the Laurel and Hardy films.
This was followed by a BFM first. We were honoured to have the expertise of the Great El Proco, magician extraordinaire!
He gave us an entertaining look at his repertoire, they can't touch you for it, of tricks.
Some were successful, some seemed to need a spot refinement. We were all mesmerised by the vanishing penny trick, and we discovered that Frank, our refugee from Cheadle & Gatley is psychotic, or should that be psychic!
