AKM Film Competition

Oh dear!   Not another trophy!

Having viewed all eight films members were asked to choose their winner. Before the results were announced the meeting discussed each entry and passed comments on aspects of the productions.

The final vote was very close. The winner, a film by David Crossley, called "Murmurations" leading the pack by just one vote.

The evening was rounded off by showing the recent club production "Let there be Light". This was a project for Burnley Council. Burnley Film Makers being asked to record Burnley's first ever light parade.
It's hoped the film will help the organisers to obtain funded to make it an annual event.

This is an annual, in house, competition for films made to music. It was originally started to encourage members a) to be more selective in their choice of music; b) to get used to working within certain time constraints.

Put simply the film hadn't to be longer than the chosen music track; including opening and closing titles.

We had eight entries from five different members. Subjects ranged from a snowy day in Todmorden; bear cubs wrestling in Poland; a trip to a war cemetery at El Alamein through to more tranquil scenes nearer home.
